Lommel, 13 juni 2019 – Vandaag werd Kristal Solar Park in Lommel officieel ingehuldigd, in aanwezigheid van burgemeester van Lommel Bob Nijs, CEO van LRM Tom Vanham, Vice President van de Europese Operaties van Nyrstar Guido Janssen en CEO van ENGIE Benelux Philippe Van Troeye. 303.000 fotovoltaïsche panelen liggen er voortaan te blinken op het bedrijventerrein Kristalpark III.

In a few days the 22nd Offshore High Voltage Station (OHVS) built at the Hoboken yard of ENGIE Fabricom by the consortium partners ENGIE Fabricom, Smulders and CG, will sail towards its destination to the Norther offshore wind farm. This offshore wind farm, a project by Elicio, Eneco & Diamong Generating Europe, is the largest of the Belgian coast and will provide power to close to 400,000 households. It’s being built 23 kilometres off the coast of Zeebruges. Anually the wind farm will produce 1.4 billion kWh renewable energy.
In October 2018, ENGIE Fabricom will start with the construction of the Kristal Solar Park in Lommel, an initiative of the Limburg investment company LRM, the city of Lommel and Nyrstar. With a capacity of 99 MWp, it will be the largest solar park in the Benelux region.
The ENGIE Fabricom, Smulders and CG consortium has won in December 2015 the contract to design, supply and install the offshore substation for EnBW (Energie Baden-Württemberg). Yesterday evening the substation began sailing towards its destination, approximately 98km off the German coast and 90km north of Borkum island in the North Sea.
