Power2Act: from dreams to action
Quite a few ENGIE employees help disadvantaged children with their homework, organise outings for young people with disabilities or care for seriously ill people. They work after hours as volunteers for a good cause. ENGIE lends them a helping hand and supports their projects.
Actions speak louder than words. It is in this spirit that six years ago ENGIE set up Power2Act, an in-house programme in support of a number of associations in which ENGIE employees actively participate to provide assistance to the most vulnerable social groups.
Making the most of our knowledge
ENGIE provides these associations with financial support while at the same time showing solidarity with those colleagues and employees who take part in them. However, we do not only provide financial or material assistance. We also wish to contribute to these efforts by sharing our knowledge and experience as a company. This kind of support is given concrete form in our Voluntario programme, as part of which ENGIE Cofely employees roll up their sleeves and use their talents for a worthy purpose. And make no mistake: this is a rewarding task!
Contributing to social improvement
Why do we believe this is important? The answer is simple: we are fully committed to corporate social responsibility. As a key player in the energy and related services sector, ENGIE intends to make a tangible contribution to social improvement. This commitment stems from our determination to be actively involved in the communities in which we work and live, and forms an integral part of our CSR policy.
This year’s 25 projects
This year a panel composed of members of staff selected 25 project proposals (out of the 43 received) aimed at combating social exclusion and fostering solidarity.
