When you opt for an indexed electricity contract, the price of energy on your bill is linked to a specific index that varies according to the volume of consumption and the date of signing the contract.
Find below these indexing parameters.
General indexation parameters
Consult the history of all the indexation parameters of our contracts in your Customer Area.
Indexed formulas in EBIm: by following the EBIm parameter (Endex Belgium Index month), the price of your energy more or less follows the evolution of wholesale market prices in Belgium.
The value of the EBIm parameter for May 2022 is 238,62 €/MWh.
Our contracts with an indexed electricity price are calculated on the basis of the indexation parameters as shown below. For customers with an annual consumption of less than 50 MWh for electricity and less than 100 MWh for natural gas, these indexation parameters meet the criteria set by the government. In this case, the price will be indexed quarterly in accordance with the legislation (see Endex 303). In your contract you can consult the price formula that applies to you.
Endex 303: The electricity price stipulated in your contract is quarterly indexed. The indexation parameter is based on the arithmetic average of the daily ICE Endex prices under the heading "Belgian Power Base Load Futures", as published by ICE Endex on its website during the quarter preceding the quarter of delivery (hereafter Endex 303). The Endex 303 parameter is expressed in EUR/MWh.
The value of the Endex 303 parameter for the 1st quarter of 2022 is 216,76 EUR/MWh.
Endex 101: The electricity price stipulated in your contract is indexed monthly. The indexation parameter is based on the arithmetic average of the daily ICE Endex prices under the heading "Belgian Power Base Load Futures", as published by ICE Endex on its website during the month preceding the month of delivery (hereafter Endex 101). The Endex 101 parameter is expressed in EUR/MWh.
The value of the Endex 101 parameter for the month of May 2022 is 220,79 €/MWh.
eSpot: The electricity price stipulated in your contract is indexed monthly. The indexation parameter is based on the arithmetic average of the "settlement" prices on the Day-Ahead Market, as published by Epex spot on its website for all days of the relevant month (hereafter eSpot). The eSpot parameter is expressed in EUR/MWh.
The value of eSpot for the month of April 2022 is 186,59 €/MWh.
These contracts use the indexation parameter PPBq [50% x Endex_BE (15d, 1.3-14d, 0.3) + 50% x Endex_BE606] in the price formulas.
The PPBq (average wholesale market prices for electricity in Belgium) reflects the evolution of the quarter and the semester of forward electricity prices on the Belgian wholesale market for a baseload supply. This allows you to enjoy price evolutions on the electricity market, while limiting large fluctuations in the monthly electricity price.
The definitions of the components of PPBq [50% x Endex_BE (15d, 1.3-14d, 0.3) + 50% x Endex_BE606] are as follows:
Endex_BE (15d, 1.3 - 14d, 0.3) is applied in the quarter Q and expressed in EUR/MWh.
Endex_BE (15d, 1.3 - 14d, 0.3) is equal to the arithmetic mean of the end of day quotations for a baseload electricity supply on the Belgian market for quarter Q quoted during the period starting on the 15th calendar day of the month M-2 up to and including the 14th calendar day of the month M-1, where the month M is the first month of the relevant quarter.
