Tax benefit for businesses
Companies that invest in a publicly accessible charging station between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2024 can benefit from increased deductibility.
The following rules apply (Van Peteghem Act):
A deductibility rate of 200% for investments made between 1 September 2021 and 31 December 2022.
A deduction rate of 150% for investments made between 1 January 2023 and 31 August 2024.
The charging station must be freely accessible to the public during the usual opening and/or closing hours of the business.
The investments must be depreciated on a straight-line basis over at least five years.
Deductibility is possible as of the tax year relating to the taxable period in which the charging station is operational and accessible to the public.
The charging point must be connected and be able to provide information on charging time and capacity.
